What is a home service massage?

A home service massage is a professional massage therapy session provided in the comfort of your own home, rather than at a spa or clinic. Licensed massage therapists bring all necessary equipment, such as a massage table, oils, and linens, to your location. This service is convenient for clients who prefer privacy, have mobility issues, or have busy schedules. Home service massages can include various techniques, such as Swedish, deep tissue, or sports massage, tailored to your needs.

What are some common challenges faced by home service massage therapists and how can they be managed?

Home service massage therapists often encounter challenges such as navigating unfamiliar environments, managing scheduling logistics, and ensuring client safety and comfort. It is important to maintain clear communication with clients regarding expectations, space requirements, and accessibility. Therapists should also invest in portable, high-quality equipment and practice good time management to accommodate travel and session durations. Building strong client relationships and setting professional boundaries can help create a safe and productive work environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a home service massage therapist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Home Service Massage Therapist, you need a solid understanding of massage techniques, anatomy, and physiology, typically backed by a massage therapy certification and relevant licensure. Familiarity with portable massage equipment, scheduling apps, and sanitation protocols is commonly required. Excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism, and adaptability are crucial for building client trust and working in diverse home environments. These skills and qualities are essential for delivering effective treatments, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining a successful mobile practice.

Job description

Join Denver's Premier Massage Studio

Renew Massage Studio is looking for a Part-Time Licensed Massage Therapist to join our Denver team.

We're looking for an LMT who is passionate about massage, takes pride in providing exceptional service, and enjoys building lasting relationships with clients. In particular, we're looking for someone who is comfortable engaging with clients, understanding their needs, and creating an experience that encourages them to return and rebook.

Why Renew?

Renew is a locally owned, non-corporate studio founded by a female LMT, so our workplace has been designed with massage therapists in mind. We want our LMTs to have the support and structure of an established studio while still being valued for their individual skills and approach to massage.

Our modern Denver studio features uniquely decorated treatment rooms with electric lift tables, and we provide high-quality organic products for use with clients. We emphasize environmentally responsible business practices and provide paid setup and turnover time so therapists have time to prepare for their clients and reset between appointments.

We're proud to have been voted Denver's Best Massage Studio by Best of Mile High in 2024, 2025, and 2026.

Compensation

Earn $32.00โ€“$42.00 per massage service hour, before tips. Compensation includes hourly wages plus commission and reflects your skill level and experience.

  • Hot Salt Stones
  • Prenatal Massage
  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage

We also provide guaranteed annual raises and an additional commission bonus for therapists who work both weekend shifts.

Schedule
  • Part-time therapists work at least one regularly scheduled shift per week
  • Shifts are scheduled for 6 hours
  • Saturday or Sunday availability is required
  • Additional commission bonus for working both Saturday and Sunday
  • Paid setup time before your first client and paid turnover time between appointments
Benefits

  • 401(k) plan for those who qualify
  • Guaranteed annual raises
What We're Looking For
  • A valid Colorado massage therapy license and insurance
  • Reliability and professionalism
  • Excellent communication and client-service skills
  • Ability to provide varying levels of pressure, including Deep Tissue techniques
  • A genuine interest in developing relationships with clients and encouraging long-term client retention

Experience is preferred, but newer massage therapists are welcome to apply. If you're passionate about massage, eager to grow, and committed to providing an excellent client experience, we'd love to hear from you.
