Siemens Buildings is looking for an Incoming Quality Inspector to ensure that all incoming materials requiring inspection are verified against engineering, quality, and customer requirements before being released for production. This role is responsible for performing inspections, documenting results, managing nonconforming material, supporting supplier quality activities, and ensuring accurate execution of receiving inspection processes.
As Incoming Quality Inspector, you will:
  • Perform receiving inspections on incoming materials, components, and assemblies according to established inspection plans, drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Accept, reject, and disposition incoming materials based on inspection results and ensure accurate documentation within SAP and other quality management systems.
  • Process nonconforming materials by initiating rejection transactions, moving material to quarantine areas, and ensuring proper segregation and identification of rejected product.
  • Review PPAP submissions for incoming components, verifying compliance with engineering and customer requirements.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, gauges, optical comparators, CMM and other inspection tools.
  • Support Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality teams by performing special inspections, dimensional studies, investigations, and data collection activities related to product and process issues.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and documentation to support traceability, compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Release accepted material for production use and ensure timely processing of incoming shipments to support operational needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of incoming inspection plans and provide feedback to Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) regarding inspection criteria, sampling plans, and supplier performance concerns.
  • Participate in root cause investigations involving supplier quality issues and provide inspection data to support corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with quality procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and applicable quality management system standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing inspection processes, reducing defects, and improving operational efficiency.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of experience in quality inspection, receiving inspection, manufacturing quality, or a related field
  • Must be able to demonstrate:
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
    • Experience reviewing PPAP documentation and supporting supplier quality activities
    • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP for inspection documentation, material transactions, and quality records
    • Knowledge of sampling plans, inspection techniques, and nonconforming material control processes
    • Attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies, defects, and quality concerns
    • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
    • Communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Supplier Quality teams
    • Ability to work independently and make sound quality decisions based on established requirements
  • Available to work on-site, Monday through Friday

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, or related technical field
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment, CMM, and inspection tools
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or other relevant quality certifications
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Knowledge of statistical sampling methodologies and quality tools
  • Experience in an electronics, electromechanical, or industrial manufacturing environment

The pay range for this position is $37,199 - $63,770 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
