Sinto America Surface Technologies provides precision shot peening, blasting and cleaning services through its National Peening division.

National Peening is currently seeking a Quality Inspector to join our Team in Wallingford CT.

What You Will Do

The Quality Inspector is responsible for all activities that related to the quality of shot peening or finishing of customer parts and compliance to customers purchase order.

General

  • Perform incoming inspections, issuing receiving paperwork and performing customer purchase order contract review
  • Perform receiving inspections with required training to customer visual and dimensional inspection requirements.
  • Create job/part certifications within E2 system.
  • Review and inspect co-workers’ final customer certifications and packing slips.
  • Capable of issuing customer awareness documents and quality department non-conformance reports.
  • Understand customer operation sheets and verify peen required, peen optional and peen not allowable areas per customer technical data.
  • Perform Almen strip inspection for coverage.
  • Read, understand and perform work to written procedures; POP’s or equivalent.
  • Maintain daily shipment reports.
  • Utilize (Profilometer) surface analyzer and measure part surface finish to POP requirements.
  • Correctly complete and sign all E2 router steps related to work performed.
  • Keep work area floors, work table and machine free of debris and clutter. Sweep and pick up all shot peen and vibratory milling media from the floor adjacent to the equipment being operated.
  • Maintain shadow boards station at each process operation.
  • Empty trash containers as needed; especially at the conclusion of your work shift.
  • Show the ability to work independently read POP instructions and follow directions.
  • Have a positive attitude at all times, show ability to work well with others.
  • Follow EH&S guidelines for safety shoes, eye and hearing protection, etc.
  • Maintain willingness to work a flexible schedule and overtime as required.
  • Understand basic principles of NP’s quality system, especially related to documenting non-conforming materials
  • Understand the basic principles of shot peening and vibratory milling.
  • Correctly complete and sign all E2 router steps related to work performed

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • 3-5 years experience in manufacturing environment, surface treatment experience preferred
  • 2+ years management/supervisor experience in quality position preferred
  • Familiarity with ISO-9001 and NADCAP quality system preferred
