Job description

Position Overview

Drytime Restoration is hiring an experienced Water and Fire Damage Restoration Technician to respond to residential and commercial property losses. This hands-on role involves water extraction, structural drying, fire and smoke cleanup, demolition, odor control, mold remediation, and job-site documentation.

The ideal candidate has restoration-industry experience, works safely with limited supervision, communicates professionally with customers, and is prepared to respond quickly during emergencies.


Responsibilities

  • Inspect water, fire, smoke, mold, and related property damage.
  • Extract standing water and install air movers, dehumidifiers, and other drying equipment.
  • Monitor moisture levels, document drying progress, and adjust equipment as needed.
  • Perform controlled demolition, including removal of drywall, insulation, flooring, and damaged materials.
  • Clean and restore structures and contents affected by fire, smoke, soot, and odors.
  • Complete board-ups, temporary repairs, containment, and site protection.
  • Follow proper procedures for sewage, mold, biohazard, and potentially hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate photographs, moisture readings, equipment logs, notes, and customer authorizations.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, project managers, adjusters, subcontractors, and other team members.
  • Clean, maintain, and inventory company vehicles, tools, and restoration equipment.
  • Follow OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and industry standards.
  • Participate in an after-hours emergency on-call rotation.


Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of water and fire damage restoration experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with water mitigation, structural drying, demolition, and fire or smoke cleanup.
  • Working knowledge of moisture meters, thermal imaging devices, extraction equipment, air movers, dehumidifiers, and HEPA filtration systems.
  • Ability to recognize job-site hazards and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Strong customer-service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead helpers or junior technicians when assigned.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass applicable background checks and drug screening.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work in confined, wet, dusty, hot, or cold environments.
  • Availability for emergency calls, weekends, evenings, and occasional extended shifts.


Preferred Qualifications

  • IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification.
  • IICRC certifications in Applied Structural Drying, Fire and Smoke Restoration, Odor Control, or Applied Microbial Remediation preferred.
  • Experience with Encircle, Dash, or similar restoration software.
  • Experience supervising crews and coordinating multiple job sites.
  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30 or IICRC HST certification.
  • Bilingual communication skills a plus!
