Open Position: Game Day Staffer

Reports to: Associate Director of Athletics

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

When Needed: Ongoing with an immediate need for 2026-2027 Fall & Winter Seasons

University Prep is seeking a talented, dynamic and compassionate Game Day Staffer to help us advance our vision of being an inclusive community of learners that provides an outstanding education for each individual in a diverse student population. We are looking for an individual committed to the academic, social and emotional needs and fluctuations of middle school students; someone who can work effectively independently as well as part of a team. We need a leader who understands best practices in teaching soccer and who is passionate about teaching to middle school students and enhancing student life. Job Summary:

The Athletic Department is offering a seasonal job opportunity in Event Management working closely with athletic team operations. Candidates must be available for 1 to 3 evenings a week or on a Saturday during the sport season, with typical work hours ranging from 3;00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Exact shift frequency, days, and times will vary based on the specific sport you are hired to assist with.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provides customer service, direct leadership, and general supervision of score table
  • Assists athletic staff with game day set-up and take-down
  • Provides Scorekeeping and Clock operation for games in the Pumadome
  • Maintains and operates the proper use of equipment and supplies
  • Enforces facility and equipment rules
  • Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school's documents
  • Since safety and security are everyone's responsibility, takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Compensation:

  • Employees are paid the last working day of each month
  • Employees are paid at a rate of $25.00 per hour

Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain valid First Aid/CPR card

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be dependable
  • General knowledge of the sport you will be working
  • Ability to operate scorebook
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Professional manner, discretion, and appearance
  • Sense of humor, energy and enthusiasm and ability to hold students and oneself to high expectations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work and communicate well with all levels of faculty and staff
  • Ability to work and communicate well with students and their parents
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Proficient in appropriate computer skills and office equipment
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury
  • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talk
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work outside in any weather
  • Some local travel may be required
