Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage & Assessment: Perform rapid, thorough clinical assessments to determine patient acuity and prioritize care.
  • Intervention & Stabilization: Administer medications, start IVs, perform advanced medical procedures, and respond quickly to rapidly changing patient conditions.
  • Care Planning: Collaborate with board-certified emergency physicians, technicians, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement personalized care plans.
  • Patient Advocacy: Support patients and their families during highly stressful, urgent situations, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety.
  • Documentation: Accurately maintain electronic health records (EHR) in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program (Diploma, ADN, BSN, or MSN).
  • Licensure: Valid RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or a valid multistate compact license).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of hospital-based RN or acute care experience preferred; previous ED experience highly valued.
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) required within 90 days of hire.
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC required within 1 year of hire.
