As a member of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in addressing a diverse range of mental health conditions while fostering a supportive environment conducive to healing and personal growth.

About the Organization

Healing Hearts Counseling is a leading outpatient psychiatric practice located in Elizabeth, New Jersey, renowned for our commitment to delivering high-quality mental health services. We specialize in treating various mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. Our team of experienced professionals is dedicated to utilizing evidence-based interventions and collaborative treatment approaches to enhance the lives of our patients.

Work Environment

This remote position allows our therapists to integrate work-life balance into their professional lives while providing critical mental health services within a school setting. You will collaborate with educators, school counselors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students. While most sessions will occur during standard school hours, some flexibility may be needed to accommodate student schedules and urgent needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments, evaluating students’ emotional, behavioral, and psychological needs to inform personalized treatment strategies.
  • Deliver individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, tailored to the needs of school-aged children and adolescents.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational workshops and support groups to empower students and parents with knowledge surrounding mental health issues, coping strategies, and available resources.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including school staff and mental health professionals, to ensure holistic support and effective treatment plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention services to students experiencing acute mental health emergencies, ensuring their immediate safety and well-being.
  • Educate students and families about mental health disorders, treatment processes, and community resources that may be helpful.
  • Maintain precise and confidential documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards, including the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional education to share insights and receive support from colleagues.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in mental health therapy to continuously enhance service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be children and adolescents within the school environment, addressing numerous mental health concerns that affect their academic performance and overall quality of life. By engaging directly with students, you will contribute to better emotional regulation and coping strategies, which can lead to improved educational outcomes and personal development.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New Jersey.
  • Expertise in mental health disorders and therapeutic modalities, alongside a demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and formulate individualized treatment strategies.
  • Experience in providing therapy to children and adolescents in various settings, including schools and community organizations.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Dedication to ethical practice and the capacity to maintain professional boundaries.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems and basic computer applications for documentation and scheduling purposes.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to enhance service delivery and patient care.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of direct practice experience in mental health therapy, specifically working with children and adolescents.
  • Familiarity with school-based mental health services and understanding of educational systems would be advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, reflective of experience and qualifications. In addition to a sign-on bonus, our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Extensive healthcare benefits encompassing medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • A retirement savings plan with employer contributions to support your long-term financial wellness.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay, allowing you to recharge and maintain work-life balance.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage for peace of mind in your therapeutic practice.
