ABOUT VERBAL BEGINNINGS

Verbal Beginnings is a leading Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy provider dedicated to unlocking the potential of children ages 2–18 diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). With the belief that every child can learn, we promote independence and improve the quality of life for the children and families we serve through individualized, research-based treatment. Our commitment to care and our core values have guided us for over a decade — and continue to drive every interaction with every child.

WHY BEHAVIOR TECHNICIANS SHOULD JOIN US

Working at Verbal Beginnings is more than just a job. It's a meaningful career that gives you the power to change the course of a child's life. By meeting children where they are — in their homes and communities — you help them communicate, build independence, and connect with the world around them. Over 1,000 lives changed and counting.

  • No ABA experience? No problem. We provide comprehensive training and sponsor your path to becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), including our 40-hour RBT training course.

  • Grow your career. Move up a defined ladder — from Technician to Senior Technician— with the competencies for each level spelled out so you always know what's next. We also offer student loan assistance, free BCBA supervision hours, and scholarships for employees pursuing their Master's degree.

  • Keep learning. Access free monthly CEUs through Verbal Beginnings University (VBU), our in-house continuing education program — so you're always growing, not just working.

  • Great Place To Work® Certified for 2026. Independently certified by Great Place To Work®, the global authority on workplace culture — based entirely on confidential surveys from our own employees. That recognition didn't come from us. It came from our team.

  • Flexible schedule. Afternoon and evening hours that work around your life — ideal for students, second-job seekers, or anyone who needs a schedule that fits.

  • Collaborative culture. A supportive team environment where every member is invested in the children we serve and in each other's growth.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Behavior Technician (BT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in our in-home program, you will work one-on-one with children with autism in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. Under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), every session is an opportunity to help a child speak their first words, try a new food, make a friend, or gain independence in daily life. You will implement individualized treatment plans targeting communication, behavior, feeding, activities of daily living (ADLs), and social skills — making a measurable difference in each child's journey.

WHAT YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE

  • Travel to clients' homes and provide one-on-one ABA therapy in a naturalistic, home-based setting.

  • Implement individualized, evidence-based ABA treatment plans designed by a supervising BCBA to address each child's unique goals.

  • Collect and record precise data to track each child's progress and inform ongoing treatment updates.

  • Collaborate with your supervising BCBA and the child's family to ensure consistency and carry-over of skills in the home environment.

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and their families.
