Job description

Overview
The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia's busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and key bridge refurbishments. Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031.
The Cost Control Engineer will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Cost Control Manager in all the tasks required to produce the regular cost reports and Forecast analysis. This role would be a key player between Construction and Project Controls to assure accuracy and involvement from the different disciplines to produce the reports required by the project.
What you will be doing
  • Tracking status of cost accruals and pay applications coordinating reviews with Segment Engineers.
  • Identify discrepancies & perform subcontract reconciliation for production scope
  • Weekly Time Review/Reporting with MHRs. Facilitate Weekly Meetings with the Construction team to ensure proper coding.
  • Monthly equipment Reviews
  • Weekly Labor Productivity Reports and reviews with Segment Engineers.
  • Review/Process Requisitions and Change Order Requests providing Forecast figures and cost codes.
  • Cost Transfers requests and follow up with Finance to ensure cost coding accuracy.
  • Support Forecast Reviews/Updates as needed assisting with preparation of forecast templates & supporting documentation.
  • Perform analysis as needed under the Cost Control Manager supervision (contracts commitments, labor productivities, main overruns incurred..)

What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, required
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in cost construction or project engineering.
  • Knowledge of construction cost control practices and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Excel.
  • Assist in production pre-planning by gaining general construction knowledge.
  • Able to identify risk and opportunity by analyzing data and identify trends or areas of concern.
  • Shows initiative in inquiries and document findings to mitigate risk or pursue opportunity.
  • General construction finance knowledge with ability to understand project level reporting.
  • Able to support accounts receivable & payable and other accounting functions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Developing knowledge of construction project practices.
