For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in land surveying with emphasis on boundary. OR AA Degree in No particular degree required

  • Holds a current, valid Professional Land Surveyor license in good standing in at least one U.S. state. Candidates with boundary experience in the Eastern U.S. will be given additional consideration.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
  • Proficiency in CAD, TBC, or other comparable land surveying software application, and with GNSS and conventional survey equipment for field data collection.
Duties:

Provides land surveying support to the NPS Land Resources Division in coordination with the NPS Boundary Program and realty staff, related to realty and boundary management activities. This position is primarily office-based, working with land and title records to identify boundary risks, with occasional fieldwork requirements. The enrollee will not perform inherently governmental functions.

  • Analyze land title documents, legal descriptions, and survey plats to identify boundary risks and recommend boundary survey requirements. Research public land records and prepare Land Surveyor Reports.   60%
  • Prepare boundary survey scopes of work (SOWs) and cost estimates (CE?s) for use by federal contracting staff.   15%
  • Provide land surveying support for federal land management activities including boundary and encroachment identification, easements, reserved interests, landownership claims, and land records maintenance.   15%
  • Conduct field investigations on priority parcels to assess boundary risks and other boundary management tasks.   10%

  • Health and Safety Considerations: Field investigations require awareness of safety and hazards, including the use of appropriate equipment and clothing for environmental and ground conditions. Site-specific hazards may include uneven or steep terrain, wildlife, traffic, and handling of equipment. This requirement will be addressed during onboarding and incorporated into fieldwork planning.
  • Physical requirements: Work is primarily office-based, with occasional travel to conduct field investigations. The candidate must be able to carry survey equipment and boundary survey materials to and from job sites.
