Home Based Medical Data Annotation information

What is home based medical data annotation?

Home based medical data annotation involves labeling and categorizing medical data, such as images, audio, or text, from the comfort of your home. Annotators help train artificial intelligence (AI) systems by identifying and marking relevant information, such as highlighting tumors in X-rays or transcribing medical notes. This role is essential for improving the accuracy and efficiency of AI tools used in healthcare diagnostics, research, and patient care. Typically, it requires attention to detail, a basic understanding of medical terminology, and familiarity with annotation tools.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a home based medical data annotation specialist?

To thrive as a Home Based Medical Data Annotation Specialist, you need a solid understanding of medical terminology, attention to detail, and experience with data labeling—often supported by a background in healthcare or life sciences. Familiarity with annotation platforms, EHR systems, and relevant data security protocols is typically required, and some employers may prefer certifications in medical coding or data management. Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and effective written communication help individuals excel in remote, deadline-driven environments. These competencies ensure accurate, high-quality data labeling that is essential for developing reliable AI systems in healthcare.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in home based medical data annotation, and how can they be managed?

One common challenge in home-based medical data annotation is maintaining accuracy and consistency when labeling complex medical images or records, as errors can impact critical healthcare outcomes. Working remotely may also lead to feelings of isolation or difficulty staying updated with annotation guidelines. To manage these challenges, it's important to establish a quiet, dedicated workspace, participate in regular virtual team meetings, and utilize provided training resources. Staying engaged with peers through communication channels and seeking feedback from supervisors can also help ensure high-quality work and ongoing professional development.

Job description

Travel Medical Assistant

Bring preventive healthcare directly to patients where they live while building a career that keeps you moving. In this full-time W2 Travel Medical Assistant role, you'll complete scheduled in-home wellness visits across Pennsylvania, combining hands-on patient care, independence, and statewide travel instead of spending every day in one clinic.

The Opportunity

This is a field-based Medical Assistant role focused on preventive care, care-gap support, patient relationships, and accurate documentation - not urgent care. You'll visit patients in their homes for wellness-focused appointments such as Annual Wellness Visits, Medicare wellness visits, and Well-Child Visits.

Home visits begin in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, with travel extending throughout Pennsylvania based on business and patient coverage needs. This role is a strong fit for a Medical Assistant who enjoys direct patient interaction, can work independently in changing field environments, and wants to help patients complete important preventive visits in a comfortable, respectful way.

What You Will OwnHome-Based Preventive Visits
  • Complete scheduled in-home wellness visits with patients across assigned Pennsylvania markets
  • Support Annual Wellness Visits, Medicare wellness visits, and Well-Child Visits
  • Help patients feel comfortable, respected, and unrushed during each visit
  • Gather relevant patient information and support preventive care documentation
Hands-On Clinical Support
  • Take and document vitals and other basic patient information
  • Perform basic point-of-care support such as UAs, A1Cs, screenings, and questionnaires
  • Support routine wellness-focused clinical workflows in patient homes
  • Escalate or communicate relevant visit information through the appropriate documentation process
Mobile Field Workflow
  • Manage a mobile schedule while traveling between patient homes
  • Use an EMR/EHR system to document visit information accurately
  • Stay organized across changing routes, visit locations, and coverage needs
  • Represent a patient-first care model in home-based settings across Pennsylvania
What Makes You a Strong Fit
  • At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
  • Medical Assistant credential, certification, diploma, or equivalent qualification
  • Hands-on clinical Medical Assistant experience with direct patient care responsibilities
  • Comfort working independently in patient homes
  • Comfort with local, same-day travel and extended travel assignments within Pennsylvania
  • Ability to travel throughout Pennsylvania based on business and patient coverage needs
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license for local or same-day visits
Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience conducting Annual Wellness Visits
  • Experience conducting Well-Child Visits
  • Prior home visit, mobile care, field-based care, or community health experience
  • Experience documenting patient visits in an EMR/EHR system
Travel Expectations

This is a statewide Travel Medical Assistant role. Home visits will start in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, with travel extending throughout Pennsylvania based on business and patient coverage needs.

The role is not limited to Montgomery County. The right fit is someone who is comfortable with frequent travel, changing coverage needs, and working independently in different markets across the state.

Schedules are typically provided about 2 weeks in advance, including where you'll be going, when visits are scheduled, and how long visits are expected to last.

For local or same-day visits, you may use your own reliable vehicle, with eligible mileage reimbursed at $0.725 per mile.

For extended travel assignments within Pennsylvania, covered travel expenses may include transportation, car rental when needed, hotel, and meals.

Compensation

The expected total compensation range is USD 31 Hourly.

Schedule
  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Field-based home visit role
What Success Looks Like
