Job Title

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Unload, prepare, and load steel and consignment warehouse shipments by operating a forklift, overhead crane, and yard truck.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Selects and prepares steel bundles for shipment using written instructions.
  • Builds loads and loads trailers according to customers' requirements and Maverick's safety policies.
  • Verifies and unloads all loads delivering to consignment warehouse.
  • Stores and rotates inventory based on customer requirements.
  • Prepares and loads customers' orders from consignment warehouse.
  • Assists with inventory control of material in consignment warehouse.
  • Identifies and communicates all issues to immediate supervisor.
  • Performs pre-use inspections on all equipment, identifies and communicates all issues to Shift Lead.
  • Operates yard truck, pneumatic tools, and hand tools to assist with shipping and receiving steel.
  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of facility and equipment.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending and participating in appropriate training.
  • Ensures company confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Prefer Highschool or GED PLUS additional education in a specialized field (vocational trade school, two year college, etc.) plus 0 – 6 months related experience and/or training and No previous management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver's license. Prefer CDL. Prefer 1 year transportation or warehousing experience. Prefer forklift and overhead crane experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Warehouse environment where continuously exposed to several elements such as, noise, intermittent standing, walking; and occasional pushing, carrying, or lifting. Also may have exposure at times to the outside weather elements.
