Overview

The Manufacturing Project Manager (PMP) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing manufacturing-focused projects from initiation through completion. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget while meeting safety, quality, and operational requirements. The Project Manager works cross‑functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, EHS, IT, and external vendors to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Project Planning & Execution – Lead manufacturing projects, including equipment installs, process improvements, automation initiatives, facility upgrades, and system implementations. Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements. Manage project scope, risks, issues, and change control. Ensure projects meet defined objectives for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Cross‑Functional Coordination – Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, IT, and Supply Chain to execute projects effectively. Facilitate project meetings, status updates, and stakeholder communications. Coordinate internal resources and external contractors, vendors, and integrators.
  • Manufacturing & Operational Focus – Ensure projects align with production requirements and minimize operational disruption. Support validation, commissioning, and hand‑off to operations. Ensure proper documentation, training, and standard work are completed before project close‑out.
  • Risk, Safety, & Compliance – Identify and mitigate project risks early. Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Support audits and inspections related to project work.
  • Financial & Performance Management – Track project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures. Monitor project performance using KPIs and earned value metrics as appropriate. Provide clear, timely reporting to leadership.
Qualifications
  • Active PMP certification in good standing.
  • 5‑10 years of project management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operational constraints.
  • Experience managing capital projects and automation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with ERP or manufacturing systems implementations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient with project management tools such as MS Project, Monday.com, Smartsheet, etc.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience working in manufacturing and engineering.
  • Lean/Six Sigma training or certification.
  • Comfortable managing complex cross‑departmental initiatives.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 15 pounds at times.
