Job description

Who we are:

Integrated Home Care Services (IHCS) provides a comprehensive Integrated Delivery System in the home setting, offering Durable Medical Equipment (DME), Respiratory, Home Health, and Home Infusion services. Through our select network of Medicare and Medicaid Certified and Accredited providers, we are available 24/7 to meet the needs of our patients with compassion, expertise, and excellence.

For more than 30 years, we have been dedicated to improving lives by delivering the highest quality in-home care services. As a trusted market leader in value-based Home Health, Durable Medical Equipment, and Home Infusion Services, we proudly serve more than 2 million lives across the United States and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Our integrated care model is trusted by leading Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), physicians, and healthcare partners because of our commitment to exceptional patient outcomes and coordinated care.

At IHCS, our patients are at the heart of everything we do. We believe in creating a culture built on compassion, integrity, collaboration, and innovation. Every team member plays a vital role in fulfilling our mission of enhancing the quality of life for those we serve through Exceptional Customer Service, Proven Outcomes, and Seamless Care.

If you are passionate about making a meaningful impact, thrive in a collaborative environment, and are committed to excellence, we invite you to join our growing team. Together, we can continue transforming home healthcare while making a difference in the lives of our patients and the communities we serve.

Join IHCS where our patients are #1, and our people make the difference. Apply today!

Offering a competitive compensation package, including but not limited to;

  • Medical, Vision, Dental, Short- and Long-term insurance
  • 6+ Days of Holidays Pay
  • 17 days of PTO
  • Employer paid life insurance
  • 401K with employer contribution
  • Wellness program with reward incentives
  • Employee recognition and reward programs
  • Comprehensive paid training program

What will you be doing:

IHCS is investing heavily in building and maintaining an agentic digital workforce -- AI systems that augment the key internal roles involved in our core business of coordinated home care benefits management. We already have several early-stage implementations of these workforce agents in production and in development, and we're ready to scale that work into a coordinated, well-engineered program.

The Lead AI Engineer will own the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of these agentic systems. This is a player/coach role: you'll be hands-on building and shipping agents yourself, while also growing and leading a small engineering team as it scales. You'll bring senior software engineering judgment to a fast-evolving space, with the freedom to set technical direction on architecture and stack.

We're looking for someone who is highly curious and genuinely energized by solving complex business problems through automation and AI — not technology for its own sake, but real solutions that get into production and deliver measurable business value.

What will you need to succeed:

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering and maintaining production systems
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered or agentic systems that are live in production - not proof-of-concept or research-only work
  • Experience evaluating and benchmarking multiple third-party LLM providers/models against each other for a given use case (e.g., accuracy, cost, latency, consistency) not training or fine-tuning custom model
  • Experience shaping and transforming data for optimal model consumption (e.g., OCR/text extraction, structured-to-markdown conversion, chunking, summarization) and managing context window constraints to produce consistent agent outputs
  • Strong experience with AWS
  • Experience working in a regulated industry (healthcare, financial services, insurance, or similar), including navigating data privacy and compliance considerations (e.g., PHI handling, BAAs) when integrating third-party LLM providers
  • Some experience leading, mentoring, or setting direction for other engineers, whether in a formal management role or informally as a senior/staff-level contributor

Join our team as we strive for excellence through teamwork, where our patients are #1!

IHCS is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
