Line Maintenance Mechanic (Home Based)

The Maintenance Representative is responsible for the overall maintenance operation of the line station. Specifically, required to conduct and support all maintenance inspections during the course of the scheduled mission. He/she will be qualified and appropriately certificated for the work performed.
Essential Duties:
  • Shall positively support and promote safety, security and quality as a fundamental function of the overall responsibility.
  • Ensures that manpower and schedules can and will meet operational commitments of aircraft.
  • Plans, organizes and schedules workloads in such a manner that the highest quality and efficiency can be obtained from manpower and hours available.
  • Recommends stocking level for line stations, for efficient support of aircraft and other projects that come up in day-to-day activities. Orders and documents parts which are used, and coordinates with Materials to ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed when parts are issued and used on aircraft.
  • Advises Maintenance Control of aircraft out-of-service and/or planned out-of-service problems, and estimates time required to complete work and return-to-service.
  • Enforces safety measures, good shop practices and cleanliness standards for the maintenance facilities and equipment under his/her jurisdiction.
  • Informs Maintenance Control immediately of any unairworthy conditions found during performance of work assigned.
  • Coordinates with Maintenance Control to ensure that parts, manpower and equipment are in place to clear incoming discrepancies and Deferred Items (DI) in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoots items and affects repair or oversees the troubleshooting and repair of company aircraft to assure that aircraft return to service as soon as possible, with minimal impact to schedule.
  • Ensures that only authorized essential maintenance providers, listed in the Maintenance Provider Manual, perform and release maintenance or perform inspections on RII designated systems listed in GMM.
  • Ensures that all aircraft maintenance is performed in accordance with FAA accepted or approved data.
  • May be authorized to perform a required inspection, however, he/she may not perform the item of work required to be inspected if he/she will perform the inspection.
  • Ensures that all aircraft records and maintenance paperwork packages are complete, correct and sent to Quality Control in a timely manner.
  • Rides on company aircraft, as required, to ensure that maintenance, maintenance documentation and aircraft handling are performed in accordance with Western Global Airlines approved procedures.
  • On arrival at the destination airport, the Maintenance Representative, if present:
- Prioritizes tasks in accordance with procedures outlined in GMM.
- Ensures that the aircraft is maintained according to applicable Western Global standards and specifications as outlined in the Western Global GMM.
- Reports all maintenance requirements to Maintenance Control.
- Performs a walk-around inspection of the aircraft.
- Oversees and assists with the ground handling of the aircraft, ensuring that ground operations involving the aircraft and its systems (e.g. fueling, servicing, use of ground power) are conducted according to applicable Western Global and AMM procedures.
- Performs any required maintenance or servicing tasks to prepare the aircraft for the flight.
  • Maintenance Representative works directly with the Maintenance Control for accomplishment of all repairs and checks.
  • The carriage of sufficient tooling and equipment to perform basic maintenance tasks.
  • For Special Ferry Permits:
- Accomplishes the required procedures per Maintenance Control instructions.
- Accomplishes the SFP checklist.
- Accomplishes the safe for intended ferry flight inspection.
- Ensures all required documentation for the SFP is in the logbook, including the statement for the inspection.
Education/Experience/Skills:
  • Valid Airframe and Powerplant license (A amp;P).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years, proven line maintenance experience on 747/MD-11 aircraft or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid passport and driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel as the needs of the airline dictates. (travel up to 20 days per month)
  • Must have a positive attitude and be able to handle changes and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and provide progress reports.
