Job description

The role

The Fiber Technician will be responsible for delivering an exceptional experience to Luminate Broadband's residential and business customers. To execute this experience, the Fiber Technician will install fiber and RF-based broadband and voice services to the premise, ensure Luminate Broadband's customer's devices are connected, offer additional products and services, and leave our customers with the confidence they made a great decision in their broadband and voice provider.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver Fiber-To-The-Prem (FTTP) Installation, Repair and Customer Service to Residential and Business Customers.
  • Working knowledge of both aerial and underground fiber networks.
  • Provide an exceptional in-home/business experience to customers by being patient, efficient and knowledgeable of FTTP service, gateways and WiFi.
  • Installing residential and commercial drops, placing Network Interface Devices (NID), extending the cabling into the premise and placing network equipment in such a way that provides the greatest WiFi experience.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair broadband and voice services using software applications and technical expertise.
  • Install and repair P2MP RF equipment from the source to the customer's premise.
  • Troubleshoot customer WiFi, LAN and connection issues.
  • Install and repair VoIP services to include Residential and Business – UC applications.
