JOB SUMMARY
The Solution Architect is responsible for defining and guiding solution architecture for assigned business domains, value streams, and enterprise initiatives. The incumbent works across applications, platforms, integrations, data, security, infrastructure, vendors, and business processes to ensure solutions are well-defined, aligned, secure, supportable, auditable, and delivery-ready.

This role partners with Product, Business Analysis, Delivery, Engineering, Infrastructure/Security/Support, Operations, Compliance, Data Governance, platform teams, and vendors to translate business requirements and operational needs into clear solution designs, system boundary decisions, integration approaches, data ownership decisions, non-functional requirements, and architecture guidance.

The Solution Architect does not own delivery execution, sprint management, platform administration, or production support. The role is accountable for ensuring architectural decisions are clear, risks are identified, system impacts are understood, and delivery teams have actionable architecture direction.

JOB DUTIES
  • Define current-state and future-state solution architecture for assigned domains, products, value streams, and initiatives.
  • Translate business capabilities, operational needs, compliance requirements, and product priorities into practical solution designs and delivery-ready architecture guidance.
  • Establish system boundaries, source-of-truth decisions, data ownership, lifecycle models, integration patterns, dependencies, non-functional requirements, and architecture decision records.
  • Provide technical leadership and architecture guidance to Product, Business Analysis, Delivery, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, Security, Data, platform, and vendor stakeholders.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Business Analysts to ensure requirements, acceptance criteria, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and architectural impacts are clear, testable, and ready for delivery.
  • Partner with Delivery, Engineering, Integrations, and platform teams to clarify solution intent, resolve design tradeoffs, and support implementation without owning sprint execution or team delivery management.
  • Define how information and transactions move across systems through APIs, files, events, messaging, synchronization patterns, integration contracts, vendor integration frameworks, and reporting pipelines.
  • Identify security, privacy, identity, access, compliance, performance, scalability, resiliency, supportability, monitoring, auditability, and operational readiness requirements as part of solution design.
  • Evaluate existing applications, integrations, workflows, platforms, and technical patterns to identify risks, technical debt, duplicate capabilities, modernization opportunities, and improvement roadmaps.
  • Evaluate ERP, healthcare, document management, e-signature, CRM, identity/access, payment, cloud, vendor, SaaS, and other platform capabilities for fit against business needs, architecture standards, integration requirements, security expectations, support needs, and long-term maintainability.
  • Define and document reusable architecture patterns, standards, diagrams, and decision records that can be applied across initiatives and teams.
  • Ensure solutions align with organizational IT strategy, enterprise architecture direction, applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal security and compliance expectations.
  • Identify architectural risks, unresolved decisions, ownership gaps, cross-team dependencies, and implementation constraints early enough to inform planning, prioritization, and delivery readiness.
  • Stay current with relevant technology trends, cloud architecture practices, security expectations, platform capabilities, and industry developments; apply this knowledge to improve solution quality and architecture practices.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with integration and system design across ERP, healthcare, document management, e-signature, payment, CRM, identity/access, or other enterprise platform solutions.
  • Experience working with platforms such as Workday, Medicaid MMIS systems, DocuWare, DocuSign, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, identity/access platforms, payment platforms, or similar enterprise applications.
  • Experience designing solutions that span custom applications, SaaS platforms, vendor-managed systems, data platforms, and operational workflows.
  • Experience defining integration approaches across APIs, batch files, events, middleware, service bus patterns, reporting pipelines, and vendor integration frameworks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, C#, Angular, Microsoft SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Azure Service Bus, Kubernetes, or similar modern cloud-native technology stacks.
  • Experience evaluating platform capabilities and constraints to determine whether a business need should be addressed through configuration, integration, extension, custom development, vendor capability, or process change.
  • Familiarity with regulated environments, including healthcare, Medicaid, payroll, financial operations, HIPAA, SOC controls, accessibility requirements, or state/federal program compliance.
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours, if needed, to meet the job requirements

The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds.
