Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA) is a community-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Chicagoland's diverse immigrant and refugee communities. Established in 1981, CMAA is a cornerstone of the "Asia on Argyle" corridor of the Uptown Neighborhood of Chicago with a satellite office in Elgin, IL, providing programs to serve our community across generations. We offer after-school, summer camp, and mentoring programs for young people. For adults, we provide case management and social services, education including English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, job preparation and placement services, and immigration and citizenship case assistance. We connect older adults to in-home care support and community enrichment through our Golden Age Club. Finally, we support entrepreneurs and small businesses as the only AAPI-led Small Business Development Center in Illinois.

Requirements


Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA) is looking for a detail-oriented and committed full-time program coordinator to provide administrative support for our in-home services program in Elgin, IL and supporting the surrounding counties that the position will serve.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance to the Department Manager and Assistant Manager on matters related to in-home services clients and Home Care Aides.
  • Assists with scheduling service for clients and Home Care Aides' work schedules.
  • Conducts in-home visits in clients' homes and evaluations of Home Care Aides.
  • Conducting quarterly conferences with HCA and monthly calls to clients.
  • Engages in regular communication with Home Care Aide.
  • Manages electronic visit verification database and monitors Home Care Aide's attendance.
  • Attends home care supervisor training and department meetings.
  • Assists with compiling reports for payroll and billing.
  • Assists with maintaining client and Home Care Aide files.
  • Coordinates pre-service and in-service training for Home Care Aides.
  • Interprets for the case managers, clients, and Home Care Aide as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong knowledge of multiple Google platforms and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Working knowledge and proper utilization of technological equipment and software.
  • Experience with databases and data entry is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; self-disciplined with an ability to meet deadlines.
  • Bilingual in English and an Asian language (Chinese, Vietnamese) or Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with immigrant and refugee communities is strongly preferred.

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting as well as community outreach activities and clients homes. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Working knowledge of such equipment is required

Physical Demands including but not limited to:

  • This is a largely sedentary role, however, some filing is required. This could require the ability to lift files up to 20lbs, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

The approximate pay range for this position is $38,000.00- $43,000.00 annually. Please note that the indicated base salary is provided in good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, etc.
