Job Title: Associate Scientist, Cell Line Development
Job Location: Seattle, WA
Reports To: Senior Scientist II
The Role:
We're looking for a passionate and curious Associate Scientist to join our team. As an Associate Scientist, you'll have the freedom to ask the hard questions, think outside the box, and find creative solutions that push us forward. It's a role where your curiosity will fuel both your personal growth and the success of the team.
What You'll Do:
  • Execute cell line development workflows, including transfection, stable pool generation, single-cell cloning, and clone screening.
  • Perform mammalian cell culture (primarily CHO) using aseptic techniques across high-throughput and automated platforms.
  • Support MCB/WCB manufacturing activities and ensure alignment with CMC and regulatory expectations.
  • Conduct general molecular biology tasks such as DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, dPCR.
  • Assist in implementing next-generation CLD technologies, including genome editing, automation, and high-throughput systems.
  • Maintain detailed electronic lab notebooks, generate technical reports, and contribute to documentation for IND-supporting packages.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with upstream process development, analytics, and data science teams to ensure seamless program execution.
  • Troubleshoot experiments, analyze data, and present findings to project teams.
  • Contribute to a culture of curiosity, continuous improvement, and scientific rigor.

Who You Are:
  • BS or MS in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture; CHO experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with stable transgene expression, clone screening, or cell line characterization.
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning, sequence analysis).
  • Interest or exposure to genome editing tools (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9).
  • Experience with automation, liquid handlers, or high-throughput systems is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where curiosity drives innovation.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $78,000 to $82,000; Base salary offered may vary depending on individual's skills, experience and competitive market value. Additional total rewards include discretionary annual bonus, comprehensive benefits to include Medical, Dental and Vision, short-term and long-term disability, company paid basic life insurance, 401k company match, flexible work, generous paid time off and paid holiday, wellness and transportation benefits.
