The Principal Data & Analytics Governance & Quality Analyst leads the development and implementation of the enterprise's Data and Analytics Governance strategy and compliance for business and consumption layer data assets. As the primary data owner, ensure the integrity, quality, and fitness-for-purpose of the organization's critical data and analytics products. Take principal-level responsibility for developing and overseeing data governance strategies, leading cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Assumes accountability for the assessment, improvement and governance of quality and ongoing fitness-for-purpose of the organization's foundational data and analytics products.

  • Lead enterprise data governance councils and subcommittees, driving stewardship practices, policy adherence, and alignment across business and technology stakeholders.

  • Facilitate governance discussions, consultations, and decision-making processes, leveraging strong communication and stakeholder management skills to resolve data-related challenges and enable organizational objectives.

  • Apply knowledge of healthcare data, regulatory requirements, and data governance principles to support data quality, accountability, and effective use of enterprise data assets.

  • Manage Data Asset Strategy & Roadmap (Data asset SME) reflecting their maturity and evolution of data assets to support new/ongoing business and analytic needs.

  • Ensure data assets are governance & Quality compliant across asset lifecycle, and provides assessment based on a data assets fit for purpose, including defining data quality and governance needs, business rules, identifying sensitivity conditions, etc.

  • Strong understanding of the business capabilities addressed by data assets (their fitness for use) and ensure options for data sourcing and re-usability of assets to maximize/optimize usage of quality enterprise assets

  • Provide data and analytic consultation to business & analytics on data assets, or data governance/quality.

  • Gather & maintain data glossary, definitions and data quality rules and other business metadata for 2 or more foundational data domains.

  • Identifies efficiencies and addresses cataloging redundancies across multiple domains

  • Leads and defines the approach needed to support data catalogs and quality monitoring for multiple domains by leveraging data profiling and analysis

  • Accountable for Data Asset launch, adoption and training with Analytics Partners, and users

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 8+ years of experience in related field

  • In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in related field

  • Experience within the healthcare, health insurance, healthcare analytics, or regulated healthcare environment with knowledge of healthcare data domains, privacy requirements, and industry standards.

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs.
