What You'll Do

  • Triage patients and obtain complete histories, vital signs, and initial assessments
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and medical procedures
  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care from intake through discharge
  • Safely handle and restrain patients using Fear Free and low-stress techniques
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples
  • Place IV catheters and administer fluid therapy
  • Perform diagnostic imaging, including digital and dental radiographs
  • Run in-house laboratory testing using IDEXX equipment
  • Prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures
  • Assist with anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery
  • Support dental procedures and preventive oral healthcare
  • Use therapeutic equipment such as red-light laser therapy when appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records
  • Educate clients about medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up needs
  • Communicate with clients using compassion, clarity, and confidence
  • Anticipate the needs of veterinarians and teammates to promote an efficient workflow
  • Collaborate across the hospital to support a positive team culture
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical areas
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through on patient-care tasks
