Job Purpose:

The Project manager (PM) oversees the complete lifecycle of projects, leading cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery on time, within budget, and meeting all project objectives, often requiring extensive stakeholder management, strategic planning, and strong communication skills to navigate intricate project complexities. The PM has full ownership of assigned projects and is responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle from contract development through closeout. The PM ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contractual requirements while supporting client satisfaction and future business opportunities. This role requires strong communication and client interface skills to build and maintain relationships with owners, engineers, and stakeholders. The PM manages multiple projects concurrently and works closely with internal and external teams to successfully meet project objectives.

Description of Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for the overall financial and schedule performance of each project.
  • Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and report activities of multiple projects to the management team.
  • Serve as the principal point of contact throughout the duration of multiple projects while working collectively with applicable engineering, fabrication, and construction operations to ensure the flow of information and ability to plan construction phases for the successful execution of projects in a timely manner.
  • Must identify contractual issues and scheduling deficiencies for in-house operations as well as subcontracted tasks and develop mitigation strategies - utilizing Department Managements as necessary. This includes negotiation and change order management.
  • Communication of day-to-day operations as well as conflict/issue resolution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems within the project, including coordinating with the city, county and state officials, consulting engineers, inspectors and subcontractors.
  • Collaboration with department heads.
  • Provide monthly billing amounts for each phase of each project.
  • Exhibit confident leadership and communication skills while representing Phoenix in the most professional manner.
  • Manage and document credit card and general experiences.

Travel Requirements:

PM will travel to all assigned project preconstructions meetings, as required or directed. Reasons include, but are not limited to, verifying site conditions via pictures/videos, sign contract documents, meet with owners/engineers and subcontractors to determine schedules and finalize unresolved questions from time of bid. Additional travel is required as needed for scheduled progress meetings, verification of completed work from subcontractors, inspections, and general Phoenix presence onsite. Travel time will vary on project requirements but is expected to be 35-40% travel.

  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to drive an average of 8 hours per day, one-way.
  • Willingness to commute via airline travel.
  • Must have valid identification for airline travel.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or Project Management, or related field and five (5) or more years of project management experience.
  • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Project for scheduling.
  • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (primarily Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Competent with oral & written communication.
  • Strong qualitative and analytical skills.
  • Exemplary organizational skills.
  • Must be quick to adapt and able to thrive in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Competitive spirit with ambition for career growth.
  • Problem solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently. Ability to manage time to meet multiple project objectives.
  • Technical aptitude to review and understand project plans and specifications.

  • Ability to work in a variety of conditions (office, remotely, and in field conditions while traveling).

Clean and climate-controlled office environment. Employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions where the noise level is moderate but may be loud at certain times.
