Schedule: Hybrid with 3 onsite days a week to orient (6 months) then can move to more remote but must be local and able to come in at least 1 day a week for rounding and hands on equipment needs.

A Brief Overview
Serve as a team mentor and role model. Develop, plan, analyze, design, test, implement and maintain hospital and/or outpatient imaging applications including those in radiology, cardiology, 3D lab and other areas of the medical system. Coordinates technical related activities for image storing, imaging solutions, and DICOM sending. This includes but is not limited to Radiology/Cardiology PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication system), 3D post imaging processing software, dictation & voice recognition, and DICOM routing. This position works collaboratively with medical imaging, clinical engineering, information technology (IT), IT security, vendors, and end users to ensure the highest quality of service is provided to patients. Participate in the coordination of existing and future PACS and other digital imaging initiatives.

Professionally train and mentor other team members to develop their skills and maintain sustainable and secure information technology processes. Takes initiative to lead and coordinate projects across applications as a subject matter expert by defining requirements for changing new & existing systems in alignment with department and organization priorities. Works with teams to define process flows & make recommendations for the most efficient utilization of applications.
  • Develop, plan, analyze, design, configure, test and maintain Children's Hospital & Medical Center's imaging applications through collaboration with members of radiology, cardiology, operational leaders, technical team members and other relevant stakeholders. Research, analyze, troubleshoot, and correct system components in a timely manner. Translate workflow requirements into efficient and effective application solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate the configuration of individual imaging modalities and workstations for image storage solutions in collaboration with clinical engineering and IT in keeping with best practices for information security. Coordinates with vendors on programming changes & product development. Participates in TDW (Technical Design Workshop)-type activities. Serves as liaison to expedite support issues between clients and vendors. Participates in requirements definition, application development and system selection activities. Perform quality assurance and integrated testing of current and newly released vendor functionality to ensure system reliability and maintain data integrity.
  • Participates in rotating 24/7 On-Call PACS support and during routine software maintenance activities.


Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Medical Imaging and/or Information Technology or medical profession required. Similar work experience may substitute for education. Required and
  • Graduate of the emerging leadership program or leadership certification from a national organization Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Information Technology or healthcare with a technical role including workstation and server support in both hardware and software Required and
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a PACS analyst/admin Required
