Job description

Position Summary: Automation Technician will work as a team member to support operations automation PM system, cell setup, basic ancillary repair, grinder/material loading support and maintenance in a fast paced injection molding environment. Automation PM technician position will be expected to learn the operation, setup and planned maintenance of grinders, material loaders, conveyors, robotics, cameras, lining machines, and assembly machines and any support equipment assigned. Support all safety initiatives and maintain department MSDS system. Functions: Planned Maintenance performed on a scheduled basis. In accordance with the paper pm system and the Cell Monitoring electronic system. To follow scheduled maintenance and be flexible in its completion in line with the scheduling of production runs. Maintain clear comprehensive PM records as needed by following Proper Documentation Practices. Setup and change over automation in cells or standalone. Position is required to learn the basic setup of robotics, automation cells, lining machines, assembly machines and standalone automation equipment. Be able to follow instruction both verbal and written for equipment changeover for several product lines. Repair and basic trouble shooting skills will be expected. Have a basic knowledge of safety circuits, plus overload circuits for assistance in the diagnosis of machine trouble areas. Automation PM Tech will have a basic mechanical understanding of grinders, loaders, and automation equipment. Have a basic knowledge of fabrication with Lexan, metals and alloys. Utilize a variety of equipment such as hand held, panel saw, lathes and assorted grinders. Have the ability to learn the utilization of sheers and breaks used in the forming of metal and fastening techniques including screws, threaded inserts. MSDS will be reviewed for proper compliance per the originations requirements. Control storage and labeling of materials covered by the MSDA book for the operations automation group. Maintain a safe and orderly GMP work environment, keeping walkways and aisles clear. Performs general housekeeping duties such as sweeping and trash removal. When work in primary classification is not available, may perform other duties according to skill and availability.

Vocational school certificate or equivalent experience
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems in automated equipment
Competency using hand tools
Competency using fabrication machinery
