Job description

Holland Public Schools, located in Holland Michigan. The district has four elementary schools, one middle school and one high school and has an enrollment of approximately 3000 students.  We offer a dual language immersion program in Spanish in grades K-8.  Holland Public Schools has a diverse student population with approximately 47% Latinx, 9% Black, 6% Mulitracial, 3 % Asian and 35% White and approximately 64% free and reduced lunch.

Resource Room Teacher 
Effective Date:   August 2026
RESPONSIBILTIES:
Teacher is responsible for special education instructional delivery with assigned caseload students, push in teaching support within the general education classroom setting. Responsible for lead teacher duties including supervising instructional assistant staff. Review and ensure instruction aligns with student IEP goals and objectives. Work with district and ISD providers to ensure student needs are met across related services.   








QUALIFICATIONS:   The individual selected for this position will be the one who offers the best combination of training, experience and qualifications in accordance with the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university.
  • Valid, K-12 Special Education Certification from the State of Michigan with an SE, SA, SB, SC, SK or SM endoresment.
  • Co-teach with general education teachers.
  • CPI training required.
  • Shows evidence of successful experience as a Special Education teacher.
  • Ability to work well with students, staff and parents.
  • Ability to demonstrate mature judgment and moral and ethical behavior.
  • Ability to project a positive outlook, manner and appearance.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to equity, social justice and inclusion in all practices and position responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to examine the impact of education inequities in student achievement outcomes as it aligns with race, ethnicity, and social economic status.
  • Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Must meet the requirements of School Safety Legislation Complete FBI fingerprints required.

COMPENSATION and WORK YEAR:    In accordance with the Board of Education/HEA Contract.
