Title: Registered Nurse 

Location: Support and Connection Center

Salary: $97,850

Hours: Full-time, three 12hour day shifts with flexibility, including weekends

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at The Support and Connection Center. The Support and Connection Center offers medical and social services to individuals affected by homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance use. The RN reports directly to the Nurse Manager of the Support and Connection Center; indirectly reporting to the Deputy Director of Nursing Operations, and the Program Director of the Support and Connection Center.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments for clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, considering physical, mental, and social factors.
  • Administer/store medications, document meticulously, assist with self-administration, and educate clients.
  • Provide harm reduction and overdose prevention education.
  • Coordinate with psychiatrists, social workers, peer advocates, and others.
  • Refer clients to treatment, mental-health, medical, and housing services.
  • Advocate for clients across care systems.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and attend care-team.

Qualifications: 

  • NY State RN license
  • Preferred experience with unhoused individuals, community health, substance use, and mental health
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and Microsoft Office skills
