Position Summary
Step into the magic of the holiday season as a Hardy's Holiday Helper at Nemacolin!
Each new day in Hardy's Holiday Village is an opportunity to spread cheer. Holiday Helpers are responsible for welcoming guests with a genuine smile, serving delicious cocoa and treats, assisting in various holiday shops, and bringing the festive atmosphere to life. With the help of Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their very merry elves - these whimsical associates help to craft cherished memories for families that will last a lifetime.
This role is perfect for someone who is energetic, personable, and ready embrace the holiday magic alongside a spirited team at Nemacolin.
Exciting Incentive Opportunity: Receive a $500 completion bonus at the conclusion of the season!
Essential Functions
  • Welcome & Delight Guests: Greet families with warmth and enthusiasm while providing friendly, attentive, and personalized service throughout their experience.
  • Create Memorable Moments: Engage with guests of all ages and help bring the spirit of the holidays to life through genuine hospitality, enthusiasm, and a little festive magic.
  • Support Holiday Shops & Experiences: Assist with holiday merchandise, treats, cocoa, activities, and other seasonal offerings while ensuring guests have everything they need for a wonderful visit.
  • Enhance the Guest Experience: Share information about seasonal offerings, activities, and special events while identifying opportunities to recommend additional experiences or products.
  • Maintain a Beautiful Environment: Keep work areas, displays, service areas, and guest-facing spaces clean, organized, and inviting while following applicable health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Holiday Team: Work closely with fellow Holiday Helpers, performers, Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves, and other team members to create a seamless and enchanting guest experience.
  • Bring the Holiday Spirit: Embrace the whimsical nature of the role and bring energy, positivity, and excitement to every shift. Our Holiday Helpers are part of what makes the season feel magical!
  • Support Special Events: Assist with seasonal events, holiday programming, and other activities as needed throughout the season.
  • Pitch In Where Needed: Be flexible and willing to assist with a variety of tasks to help the holiday village operate smoothly and deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Previous hospitality, retail, food service, or guest service experience is preferred, but not required.
  • A warm, outgoing personality and genuine enjoyment of interacting with people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect comfortably with both children and adults.
  • A positive, energetic attitude and enthusiasm for creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
  • A professional appearance and the ability to represent the holiday village with warmth, enthusiasm, and polish.
  • A willingness to fully embrace the holiday spirit and create a fun, welcoming environment for our guests.
  • Dependability, flexibility, and a team-first mindset.

Time Commitment
  • This is a temporary employment opportunity.
  • Must be able to work from early November through early January.
  • Both part-time and full-time opportunities available.
  • Flexible availability is required, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events based on resort occupancy.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous guest- or customer-facing experience required; hospitality experience preferred.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to learn and effectively use property management and other resort systems.
  • Fluency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • General knowledge of the surrounding area and local attractions, or the curiosity and ability to develop that knowledge.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure, accuracy, and service standards.
  • Ability to stand for up to eight hours at a time and perform the physical requirements of the role.
  • Availability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
