Job description

We are pleased to announce a wonderful opportunity for a Bar Manager.


Position Summary

The Bar Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of beach bar operations, driving revenue growth, delivering an exceptional guest experience, and maintaining high operational standards.


This role oversees daily bar operations, team leadership, inventory and cost control, and entertainment programming. The Bar Manager plays a critical role in maximizing profitability, enhancing the guest experience, and positioning the venue as a premier destination within the local market.


What will you be doing most days?

Operations & Guest Experience

      Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring exceptional service, efficiency, and adherence to brand standards.

      Maintain a strong presence on the floor, leading by example and supporting the team during high-volume periods.

      Respond promptly and effectively to guest concerns, ensuring resolution and a positive experience.

      Foster a high-energy, engaging atmosphere aligned with the Cane & Barrel brand.

Revenue Generation & Programming

      Drive top-line revenue through strategic initiatives, promotions, and guest engagement.

      Develop and execute an engaging entertainment and events program, including live music and activations.

      Monitor market trends and competitor offerings to introduce new products, services, and experiences.

      Leverage social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) to promote events and drive traffic.

Team Leadership & Development

      Recruit, train, schedule, and develop bar team members through ongoing coaching and performance management.

      Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for service, productivity, and behavior.

      Conduct regular performance evaluations and support career development.

      Foster a positive, team-oriented culture with open communication between FOH and BOH.

Financial & Inventory Management

      Manage inventory, including liquor, beer, and wine, ensuring accuracy, proper storage, and cost control.

      Oversee ordering, receiving, and invoice processing to ensure proper pricing and accuracy.

      Monitor and control labor costs through effective scheduling and staffing strategies.

      Identify opportunities to improve profitability through cost control and revenue enhancement.

Safety, Compliance & Asset Protection

      Ensure all safety and security procedures are followed, including proper storage of alcohol and inventory.

      Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.

      Protect company assets through proper controls, loss prevention, and adherence to procedures.

Operational Planning & Administration

      Develop and maintain staffing plans aligned with business levels and seasonality.

      Prepare schedules to ensure proper coverage across all shifts.

      Oversee payroll processes and ensure accuracy in labor reporting.

      Support additional operational components such as food trailer execution and efficiency.

What are the requirements for this position?

      3-5+ years of experience in high-volume bar or restaurant operations, preferably in a beach, rooftop, or entertainment-driven environment.

      Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage, train, and develop teams.

      Strong understanding of food & beverage operations, including cost control, inventory management, and revenue generation.

      Experience managing live entertainment, events, or activations preferred.

      Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.

      Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

      Professional appearance and demeanor aligned with brand standards.

      Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements for this Position

This role requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work in a high-energy environment for extended periods of time. You must also have the ability to lift kegs, cases, and bar equipment as needed.
