The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Office of Public Assistance.

The Office of Public Assistance (OPA) administers Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Asst Program (SNAP, formerly Food Stamps), Healthy Montana Kids (HMK), and Medicaid for families, children, aged, blind, and disabled individuals.ย 

The Client Service Technician serves as the initial contact for the public and providers seeking services from OPA.ย ย This position provides information and assistance toย ย individuals applying for services or expedited SNAP applications. This position also makes referrals as needed to food banks, human resource councils, and public housing.

  • Knowledge of general office work and principles and practices of customer service.

  • Meet minimum qualifications:

    • High School diploma or GEDย ย equivalent.

    • Two years of job-related work experience in an office, receptionist, clinic, or related area.

    • Other combinations of directly related education and work experience maybe considered on a case-by-case basis.

    • Preferred experience:ย ย Extensive customer service and computer experience that includes data entry and Windows based navigation. Experience working with tribal government entities and/or other organizations of native peoples.
