Key responsibilities

Job description

  • Project Management
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously from order entry through shipment.
    • Develop and maintain project schedules.
    • Track engineering, material procurement, fabrication, testing, and delivery.
    • Monitor project budgets, labor hours, and material costs.
    • Manage change orders and scope changes.
    • Identify and resolve schedule or procurement issues before they impact delivery.

    Customer Communication
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers.
    • Review project requirements and specifications.
    • Provide project status updates and delivery schedules.
    • Coordinate customer inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
    • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.

    Procurement & Vendor Management
    • Request quotations and lead times from manufacturers and distributors.
    • Compare pricing and identify alternative solutions when needed.
    • Purchase electrical and automation components.
    • Monitor long-lead items and supplier performance.
    • Develop strong relationships with key vendors and distributor sales representatives.

    Production Coordination
    • Work closely with engineering and shop personnel to maintain project schedules.
    • Review bills of material (BOMs) for completeness.
    • Help resolve component availability issues.
    • Coordinate project priorities with production supervisors.
    • Support continuous improvement efforts within the shop.

    Technical Knowledge
    Industrial Control Systems
    Working knowledge of:
    • PLCs and remote I/O systems
    • HMIs and operator interfaces
    • Industrial networking
    • Control panel construction
    • UL 508A requirements

    Preferred familiarity with major manufacturers:
    • Allen-Bradley / Rockwell
    • Emerson
    • Phoenix Contact
    • ABB
    • Eaton
    • Siemens
    • Schneider Electric

    Power Distribution Equipment - not required but a bonus
    Working knowledge of:
    • Power Distribution Centers (PDCs)
    • UL 891 switchboards
    • Panelboards
    • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
    • Transformers
    • Transfer switches
    • Circuit breakers
    • Distribution equipment
    • Low-voltage power systems

    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
    • 1-3 years of experience in utilities, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
    • Prior project management experience required.
    • Basic knowledge of construction and industry standards.
    • PMP certification and natural gas experience are a plus.

SALARY:$ 80-$110K/YR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
