Job Summary/Description:

WTOC is looking for the next great news producer to join our team! This position will work with anchors and technical media producers to create an informative, dynamic newscast each day.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Produce 30-60 minutes of local news daily; select stories, determine story order, write broadcast scripts, select video, create and/or order graphics and other showcasing elements to enhance viewer experience and understanding of content.
- Create and execute a vision for the newscast that is anchored in audience research.
- Collaborate with anchors, reporters, digital producers, editors, directors, management, etc., to choreograph all elements of the newscast from the big picture to minute details.
- Post content to the website daily.
- Check in on our assigned beat area and share updates daily.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field, but not a requirement
- Strong writing skills
- Excellent time management, communication skills
- Experience with non-linear video editing
- Ability to critically think and troubleshoot issues independently
