MedStar Medical Group II, LLC (d/b/a MedStar Medical Group)has an opening for aHospitalist to join our team!

Job Duties: Provide inpatient internal medicine care within the hospital setting, including admitting patients, performing physical exams, ordering tests, diagnosing, performing hospital rounds, and planning for discharge. Participate in call schedule. Facilitate coordination and development of a comprehensive and individual plan of care in collaboration with patient, family, and multidisciplinary team. Prepare written prescription orders, medications, and controlled substances under Maryland and federal rules, regulations, and law. Coordinate family education with nursing staff, ancillary staff and other resources. Follow all established HIMS policies for maintenance and signing of medical records. Submit timely and complete patient bills. Receive inpatient referrals from primary care center and admit from Emergency Department. Maintain daily caseload of 10+ hospital patients. Contribute to the achievement of departmental goals and adhere to policies, procedures, quality and safety standards. Comply with government and accreditation regulations. Provide inpatient internal medicine care to adult patients within the hospital setting, including admitting patients, performing physical exams, ordering tests, diagnosing, performing hospital rounds, and planning for discharge.

The position of Hospitalist is responsible for treating adults. Position requires day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts and on-call duties. 40 hours per week.

Requires a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree or foreign equivalent and thirty-six (36) months of ABIM-recognized and ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency. Requires a valid Maryland Medical license and American Board certification (or eligibility) in Internal Medicine.

Job is based at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center (MSMHC), 7503 Surratts Road, Clinton, MD 20735.

Salary: $215,000 - $266,840 / Year
