Job description

Job Objective:
Manage permitting and compliance related to air quality for Hilcorp Alaska assets and operations.
Job Description
Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the air quality technical expert for Hilcorp Alaska.
  • Perform and manage a variety of activities at multiple facilities, fields, and operating areas to secure air quality permits and authorizations necessary for operations.
  • Perform and manage a variety of efforts at multiple facilities, fields, and operating areas to maintain compliance with air quality statutes, regulations, ordinances, and other legal requirements.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor budgets associated with the permitting and compliance efforts.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor project plans associated with the permitting and compliance efforts.
  • Solicit, retain, and manage contractors to assist with permitting and compliance efforts.
  • Coordinate permitting and compliance with internal clients and environmental specialists who support them.
  • Serve as liaison to government agencies who regulate air quality.
  • Train office and field personnel in air quality requirements and procedures.
  • Serve in the Hilcorp and Harvest Incident Command Systems.
  • Assists the Environmental Manager with due diligence associated with acquisitions.
  • Track regulatory changes associated with air quality regulation.
  • Support company vision and mission.
  • Adhere to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment and innovation.
  • Adhere to an established work schedule and attendance standards.

Other Job Responsibilities:
  • May serve as back-up to Air Program Lead when requested.
  • Available 24 hours per day to respond to critical compliance and operational issues.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains technical knowledge necessary to perform duties.
  • Contributes to team efforts.
  • Other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience with air quality permitting and compliance in Alaska
  • 3 years of experience with oil and gas exploration and production in Alaska.
  • Experience with Hilcorp Alaska facilities and personnel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, agency personnel, and the public.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ability to learn other IT tools quickly.
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities under pressure.
  • Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
  • Ability to fly in small planes and helicopters, perform work at heights, perform work in remote locations overnight.

Education Requirements:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or Engineering from an accredited four-year university or college.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in Environmental Science or Engineering from an accredited four-year university or college

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) - Preferred
  • Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) Certification - Preferred
