We believe that by taking care of you, you'll best take care of our guests. It's working. In addition to generous benefits and job openings across 30+ locations, we have internal growth opportunities for everyone who wants it. But most of all, we have heart!

Why Us:

Founded in 2009 by Steve Palmer, IRHG sets itself apart in the industry by fostering an environment where our people come first. We want to meet you. Come join us in our mission to change the hospitality industry, forever.

THE ROLE

As a Rock Climbing Guide, you’ll lead guests through safe and memorable climbing experiences that embody the Indigo Road spirit of adventure, care, and connection. You’ll ensure each guest feels confident, supported, and inspired—whether they’re new to climbing or seasoned enthusiasts.

What we will ask of you:

  • Lead guided rock climbing excursions in a safe, professional, and engaging manner.
  • Assess and accommodate guests’ experience levels, ensuring proper instruction and safety at all times.
  • Inspect and maintain climbing gear and equipment before and after use.
  • Educate guests about local terrain, techniques, and environmental respect practices.
  • Uphold and enforce all safety procedures and IRHG risk management protocols.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere for all participants.
  • Support team operations including trip prep, cleanup, and guest communication.

Requirements for Success:

  • Prior experience leading or instructing climbing trips required; professional guiding certification preferred (AMGA, SPI, or equivalent).
  • Strong technical climbing and belay skills, including safety systems and rescue procedures.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion for guest engagement and outdoor education.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to climb, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs of gear.
  • Comfort working in variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, and elevation.
  • Extended periods of standing, hiking, or climbing.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing hospitality team.
  • Fast-paced and rewarding work environment.
