The Complex Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Complex Director and Assistant Directors of Human Resources in managing a variety of HR initiatives and functions within the complex. He/she is also responsible for filling all open positions in a timely manner, accurate and timely completion of paperwork, the understanding and enforcement of company policies, and assisting with benefits and workers compensation duties.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Assist Highgate associates and leadership with necessary resources and general inquiries.
โ€ข Compile data review lists and distribute to departments.
โ€ข Compile Turnover Report, copy and distribute.
โ€ข Enter payroll information on computer (wage information, changes).
โ€ข Conduct prescreening interviews.
โ€ข Respond to unemployment claims, maintain unemployment logbook.
โ€ข Maintain new hire, termination, transfer and promotion logbook.
โ€ข Audit hours worked in payroll reports for eligibility of benefits.
โ€ข Compile wage surveys.
โ€ข Monitor and maintain Leave of Absence log.
โ€ข Monitor Workman's Compensation claims, complete First Report of Injury and Employers Report of Industrial Injury.
โ€ข Answer questions regarding 401K Plan, vacation and benefits (insured and noninsured).
โ€ข Maintain complimentary room night log, process employee requests.
โ€ข Prepare and place recruitment advertising.
โ€ข Process paperwork for terminating employees.
โ€ข Maintain advertising logbook.
โ€ข Become certified trainer in all Human Resources training modules.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with all HR and related Loss Prevention SOP's.
โ€ข Participate in Highgate Hotel Culture & Engagement Committees.
โ€ข Schedule Highgate Hotel Orientation.
โ€ข Facilitate Highgate Hotel Orientation - explain benefits, conduct tour of property, and complete all required processing documents.
โ€ข Write articles and take pictures for property newsletter.
โ€ข Assist with special projects; plan employee events (meetings, events, conferences).
โ€ข Coordinate Travel Reduction Program, write Travel Reduction Plan, conduct yearly transportation survey.
โ€ข Maintain Safety and First Aid logs and other compliance related documents
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
โ€ข At least 1 year of progressive Human Resources experience in a hotel or a related industry required.
โ€ข Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
โ€ข College course work in related field helpful
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent required.
โ€ข Long hours sometimes required.
โ€ข Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
โ€ข Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
โ€ข Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.

โ€ข Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

โ€ข Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.
โ€ข Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.

โ€ข Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
โ€ข Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
