Job description

Overview

Texas Oncology is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gynecologic Oncologist to join one of the premier multidisciplinary cancer programs in the Greater Houston area. Located in The Woodlands, Texas, this is an exceptional opportunity to join a thriving, physician-led practice that combines the advantages of community-based medicine with the resources of the nation's largest oncology network.

This well-established practice has earned an outstanding reputation throughout the rapidly growing north Houston region by delivering exceptional patient-centered care while fostering strong relationships with referring physicians. With continued population growth throughout Montgomery County and the surrounding communities, the incoming physician will have the opportunity to build a busy gynecologic oncology practice supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team and an extensive referral network.

Texas Oncology has a robust and highly actively clinical research program, both internally and through the network's longstanding partnership with the Sarah Cannon Research Institute. We participate in national cooperative group trials and pharmaceutical-sponsored clinical trials, providing our patients with access to a broad range of innovative treatment options. There is a strong institutional emphasis on clinical trial enrollment and accrual, and Texas Oncology is recognized as one of the highest-accruing community oncology research programs in the United States. This commitment to clinical research allows us to provide patients with comprehensive, cutting-edge cancer care while contributing to the advancement of new and potentially more effective treatments.

The incoming physician will join eight established Gynecologic Oncologists across the greater Houston area as part of a highly collaborative practice. There is a weekly Gyn Pathology conference dedicated to reviewing and discussing complex and challenging patient cases. The conference brings together a multidisciplinary team that includes radiology, pathology, interventional radiology, nurse navigators, and other members of the supportive care team. This collaborative forum facilitates comprehensive case review, encourages multidisciplinary decision-making, and ensures that patients benefit from the collective expertise of the team Dr. Rob Coleman attends these meetings regularly. It is also particularly valuable in supporting and mentoring younger attending physicians by providing an opportunity to discuss challenging cases, share clinical perspectives, and learn from experienced colleagues.

Directly within The Woodlands site, the practice also includes a dedicated breast cancer program to provide a comprehensive women's cancer care center with two breast only medical oncologists, two breast surgeons, and genetics-certified midlevel providers. The practice also consists of six medical oncologists, two radiation oncologists, one hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgeon, and a dedicated palliative medicine physician. Together, these specialists provide truly comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care within a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility located in The Woodlands Medical District.

The practice is located on a hospital campus that serves as the medical center of north Houston and is a Level II Trauma Center. The hospital has six da Vinci robotic surgical systems and four specialized intensive care units, including dedicated neuro, cardiac, trauma, and closed surgical ICU centers. It offers a broad range of medical and surgical subspecialties and has received national recognition for excellence in multiple specialty areas, as well as for the quality of its nursing care. This comprehensive clinical environment provides a strong multidisciplinary infrastructure to support the care of complex and critically ill patients.

As a member of Texas Oncology, physicians benefit from the resources of The US Oncology Network, the largest network of community-based oncology practices in the United States.
