Oliver Inc. is looking for a Quality Monitor to join our manufacturing team and play an important role in ensuring our commercial printing and folding-carton products meet the highest standards for quality, appearance, and performance.

What You'll Do
As a Quality Monitor, you'll monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process, from incoming materials through final inspection. You'll apply established quality standards across multiple production areas, including Press, Die Cutting, Folding & Gluing, Bindery, and Labels.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Inspect incoming raw materials and verify they meet established quality requirements.
  • Review machine setup and make-ready processes to ensure production meets specifications.
  • Perform First Article inspections, in-process inspections, and final quality inspections.
  • Conduct quality testing for print characteristics, gloss, appearance, dimensions, thickness, product compatibility, and other product specifications.
  • Perform testing for scuff and scratch resistance, ink/varnish/foil adhesion, code verification, bond strength, opening force, closing, and drop testing.
  • Identify quality issues and determine appropriate product disposition, including accept, block, or reject.
  • Document inspection results and enter quality data accurately into the appropriate systems.
  • Prepare product identification and quality tags, including load tags, quarantine tags, and scrap authorization tickets.
  • Prepare customer samples, color range books, final product samples, and defect panoplies as needed.
  • Communicate quality findings and concerns to Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, and Shipping.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to identify and address quality issues quickly and effectively.
  • Follow established quality procedures, safety requirements, and company standards.

What We're Looking For
As our Quality Monitor you will be detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You should have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in quality control, quality inspection, printing, packaging, folding cartons, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify product defects and inconsistencies.
  • Working knowledge of quality inspection tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and use sound judgment when situations change.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production and other departments.
  • Corrected 20/20 vision and the ability to accurately distinguish colors and identify printing, packaging, and folding-carton defects.
