Description
An opportunity to join the Structured Rates and Credit team, part of Citi Wealth Investment Solutions for the Americas, which serves Citi Global Wealth (CGW) Private Bankers, Investment Counsellors, Financial Advisors and their clients.
Located in Citi's New York Greenwich Street headquarters, the Structured Rates and Credit team is responsible for coordinating and executing large, complex interest rate and credit transactions on behalf of Citi Global Wealth.
The successful candidate will report to the head of the team and be primarily responsible for sales, coverage and execution of over-the-counter (OTC) interest rate and credit derivatives.
Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate their expertise in OTC interest rate and credit derivatives, with a focus on interest rate swaps, caps, swaptions, credit default swaps and options. Applicants should also be well versed in Dodd Frank, margining, and clearing rules and should be familiar with ISDA and credit support documentation.
Roles & Responsibilities
Coverage & Execution
  • Serve as the primary point of coverage within Citi Global Wealth Investments (CGWI) for Private Bankers, Investment Counselors & Advisors whose clients require access to OTC interest rate and credit markets.

  • Advise and execute interest rate and credit derivative transactions on behalf of the retail and family office client sector.

  • Understand and be an expert in all necessary pre-trade checks & due-diligence, and post trade life cycle.

  • Have strong understanding of the margin, credit, clearing and legal requirements that support such OTC transactions by working closely with the relevant teams.

  • Forge strong relationships with key trading desks and counterparties.

Sales & Origination
  • Articulate and present the desk's capabilities and target transactions both on internal and external sales calls.

  • Develop close relationships with Bankers, Investment Counsellors, and Financial Advisors to join their calls with clients that have potential transactions.

  • Partner with CGWI Solutions Sales & Capital Markets Sales to originate potential transactions.

  • Business Development

  • Identify new trading & product opportunities that could prove relevant to CGWI.

  • Work closely with members of the team and legal, risk and business management partners to ensure quality and suitability of new opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience with interest rate and credit derivatives in a client facing & revenue generating capacity.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.

  • Series 7, 66, NFA Swaps Proficiency.

  • Familiarity and experience with credit derivative products preferred.

  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.

Skills & Competencies
  • Subject matter expertise with OTC interest rate and credit derivatives.

  • Knowledge of private credit markets preferred but not essential.

  • Strong familiarity with Dodd Frank, mandatory clearing, and margin rules.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.

  • Able to manage multiple competing work streams in a deadline driven environment.

  • Extensive familiarity with Bloomberg, Microsoft Office suite (Excel & Powerpoint), and VBA.
