Job description

SAM Construction Group is the construction division for our vertically-integrated developer, SAM Development Group.

We specialize in new mid-rise multifamily and luxury home construction.


Our structures are concrete and steel, with in-house divisions self-performing a variety of trade craft scopes including:

grading/excavation, underground wet/dry utilities, concrete/rebar, framing/drywall, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, roofing, landscaping, pool, tile as well as other scopes


We are seeking experienced Concrete Formsetters with minimum 5-7 years of experience on either mid-rise/high-rise apartments or luxury home construction.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setting and Aligning Forms:Place and align forms to ensure concrete is poured to the required depth, pitch, and shape for structures such as sidewalks, curbs, floors, and roads
  • Mixing and Pouring Concrete:Mix concrete to specified ratios, direct the pouring process, and ensure even distribution, sometimes signaling truck drivers and moving chutes as needed
  • Spreading, Leveling, and Smoothing:Use hand and power tools (rakes, trowels, floats, screeds) to spread, level, and smooth concrete surfaces to achieve the desired finish
  • Molding and Edging:Mold expansion joints and edges using jointers, edging tools, and straightedges
  • Monitoring Weather Effects:Observe and adjust for the impact of wind, heat, or cold on concrete curing to ensure quality results
  • Applying Compounds:Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure and protect concrete surfaces
  • Patching and Repairing:Patch voids, repair defects, and chip or grind high spots to achieve a uniform finish
  • Supervision and Safety:May supervise and train less experienced workers, ensure safe work practices, and maintain a clean work area
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Familiarity with hand and power tools (vibrators, polishers, saws, etc.)
  • Physical stamina: ability to stand, kneel, lift heavy materials, and work outdoors for extended periods
