Job description

As an Insulation Installer, you will be responsible for providing weatherization improvements to make building structures more energy efficient. Improvements will include installing blown-in cellulose insulation, fiberglass insulation, home sealing, etc.
The position is also responsible for completing installation work on buildings including siding, roofing, sheet-rocking and carpentry. The Weatherization Insulation Installer will work as a member of a team to efficiently and effectively complete all project duties assigned by the crew chief. Installers will be expected to ensure compliance with Industry Standards and OSHA and other safety work practices while working.
This Job operates in the field. Position will entail working in varying conditions while inspecting job sites, these work conditions may entail exposure to any or all of the following: heat, cold, heights, dust, dirt, indoors, outdoors, and confined areas.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Installing insulation materials, air sealing, roof ventilation, etc.
  • Apply insulation materials such as loose, blanket, board, and foam insulation to attics, crawl spaces, basements, or walls.
  • Install and seal joints of air ducts to improve heating and cooling efficiency.
  • Installing soffit, gable or roof ventilation openings.
  • Installing temporary access openings to walls floors or roof using hand or power tools.
  • Installing weather-stripping materials to doors or windows to reduce energy losses.
  • Wrap air ducts and water lines with insulating materials, such as duct wrap and pipe insulation.
  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment.

  • Must have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-pressure, schedule-driven environment.
