POSITION SUMMARY

As a PORTER, you'll be responsible for performing general housekeeping, sanitation, and drum washing duties across the facility. This role supports cleanliness, safety, and quality standards in all departments by maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas, production containers, and common spaces. Responsibilities include the cleaning and sanitizing of drums and pallets, facility maintenance tasks, and adherence to company policies and sanitation procedures.

This position supports all departments with cleaning needs and requires attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively to meet daily and weekly maintenance needs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO (OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Comply with corporate policies and procedures to maintain a clean, safe working environment within the facility and property surrounding the premises
  • Perform routine tasks on a regular basis in accordance to a Weekly Maintenance Schedule
  • Maintain adequate inventory of janitorial supplies and equipment
  • Provide general housekeeping duties in a timely, effective, and professional manner, including but not limited to:
  • Cleaning and sanitizing production containers and pallets
  • Inspecting drums for cleanliness, damage, or contamination before and after washing
  • Using proper chemical concentrations and following protocols to ensure sanitation
  •   Performing manual cleaning (e.g., scrubbing, rinsing) for drums requiring extra attention
  • Cleaning offices, break rooms, restrooms, and common areas
  • Dusting furniture, equipment, and fixtures
  • Stripping, mopping, and waxing floors
  • Vacuuming and spot-cleaning carpets
  • Trash removal and window cleaning
  • Grounds maintenance
  • Moving furniture, appliances, and fixtures as requested
  • Assist maintenance team and/or service contractors as required
  • This is a service department; you will interact with all departments and supply all cleaning needs in a timely, effective and professional manner. Your duties will be defined by your direct supervisor.
  • Responsible for quality and continuous improvement within the job scope
  • Contributes to and supports the corporation’s quality initiatives by encouraging team and individual contributions toward the corporation’s quality improvement efforts

 WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work occasionally near mechanical parts and in high places
  • Exposure to cold temperatures in the winter and hot temperatures in the summer
  • Occasional duties in an outside environment
  • Duties are performed primarily in a smoke-free environment

Requirements

WHAT YOU BRING (MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS)

  • 1 year of experience as a porter, janitor, or sanitor preferred
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Computer knowledge and skills are required 
  • Pallet jack experience preferred 
  • cGMP preferred  
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English via speaking, writing, and reading 
  • Must be willing to work overtime or on weekends, as the workload demands

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and reach
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Push/Pull up to 300 lbs.
