High Rise Construction Jobs in Illinois (NOW HIRING)

We’re partnered with a highly regarded, fully integrated general contractor and developer as they look to hire a Project Executive for their growing Chicago team.

The company has a substantial pipeline of local and national multifamily and high-rise developments, with projects ranging from large-scale residential communities to complex urban towers and mixed-use developments.

This is a senior leadership role that will serve as the key link between the development and construction arms of the business. The Project Executive will help ensure projects are commercially viable, properly planned and successfully executed from early development and design through construction, turnover and closeout.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, development teams, preconstruction, design partners and field operations while overseeing multiple major projects and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between the development and construction teams
• Oversee multiple multifamily, high-rise and mixed-use projects from early planning through completion
• Partner with development leadership on budgets, schedules, design decisions and project feasibility
• Provide construction input during site selection, due diligence, entitlement and design development
• Lead project strategy, procurement, contracting and execution planning
• Oversee Project Managers, Senior Project Managers and field leadership
• Ensure alignment between ownership objectives, design intent, budget and construction delivery
• Review project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, schedules and risk exposure
• Lead major subcontractor buyout and contract negotiations
• Identify design, constructability, procurement and schedule risks early
• Support value engineering without compromising project quality or long-term asset performance
• Maintain strong relationships with architects, consultants, subcontractors, lenders and ownership partners
• Lead executive-level project reviews and communicate progress, risks and key decisions clearly
• Support the development of construction standards, processes and best practices
• Assist with recruiting, mentoring and developing project-management teams

Requirements

• Experience as a Project Executive, Senior Project Manager or Director of Construction
• Strong background delivering large-scale multifamily, high-rise or mixed-use projects
• Experience working for a general contractor, developer or integrated GC/developer
• Proven ability to oversee multiple projects and project teams simultaneously
• Strong understanding of preconstruction, design management, contracts, scheduling and project financials
• Experience working directly with developers, ownership groups and senior executives
• Ability to balance development objectives with construction realities
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and decision-making skills
• Willingness to travel periodically for national projects
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field is preferred
