Job Title: Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.)

Location: Fair Oaks, CA

Clinic: Tian Chao Herbs & Acupuncture / Violet Wellness Spa

Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Reports To: Clinic Director (Tian Li, L.Ac., MSTOM)

Job Overview

Tian Chao Herbs & Acupuncture is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) to join our holistic health center in Fair Oaks, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for administering Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapies—including body and facial acupuncture, herbal medicine, and manual therapies—to address a wide variety of client health, pain, and cosmetic goals. You will work closely with our leadership team to deliver high-quality patient care, conduct comprehensive health screenings, and educate clients on long-term wellness.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & TCM Modalities

  • Administer and deliver a full spectrum of Traditional Chinese Medicine health and healing techniques customized to patient needs, including:
    • Acupuncture (including general health, pain management, and cosmetic/facial acupuncture)
    • Prescription and customization of TCM herbal formulas
    • Gua Sha and Cupping (body and facial)
    • Moxibustion and Ear Seeds / Tacks (Auricular Therapy)
    • Therapeutic Blood-Letting (within California L.Ac. scope of practice)
  • Carry out initial consultations, health history intake, and diagnostic screenings utilizing systems adopted by Tian Chao Herbs & Acupuncture (TCHA) in direct coordination with the TCHA Clinic Director.
  • Prescribe specialized herbal formulas in consultation with Tian Chao Herbs and Acupuncture.
  • Provide patients with comprehensive educational information on TCM principles, wellness topics, dietary advice, and lifestyle adjustments.

Patient Relations & Product Sales

  • Treat each patient in a professional, empathetic, and respectful manner at all times.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all services, products, pricing models, and treatment plans offered by the clinic.
  • Communicate and educate clients on clinic offerings, recommending appropriate products, herbal medicine, and follow-up treatment plans tailored to their diagnostic needs.
  • Make recommendations for TCHA community classes and educational workshops appropriate for respective clients.

Interdepartmental Collaboration & Operations

  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with various clinic departments (Acupuncture, Esthetics, and Retail/Herbal Dispensary) to ensure seamless delivery of integrated services across all clinic offerings.
  • Maintain detailed, compliant, and timely Electronic Health Records (EHR) and treatment SOAP notes.
  • Ensure all treatment rooms meet strict safety, sanitation, Clean Needle Technique (CNT), OSHA, and California Acupuncture Board guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Licensure: Active License to practice Acupuncture in the State of California (L.Ac. required; Master's or Doctorate in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine / MSTOM / DAcHM).
  • Certifications: Current NCCAOM Certification (or equivalent CA board licensing requirements) and Clean Needle Technique (CNT) certification.
  • Experience: Experience or strong interest in internal medicine, pain management, and cosmetic/facial rejuvenation acupuncture is highly valued.
  • Skills:
    • Strong clinical diagnostic and pulse/tongue analysis skills.
    • Deep knowledge of Chinese Herbal Medicine and formula modification.
    • Professional, warm bedside manner with clear client communication.
    • Comfort with soft-sales and educating patients on treatment plans and retail herbs.
