Job description

Volunteers Are the Heart of Hospice

By the Bay Health Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers in the cities of Santa Rosa, Sonoma, Napa and Kenwood to provide friendship, comfort, and a supportive presence to patients on their end-of-life journey. If you speak Spanish, that is a plus!

Our patients are often lonely and deeply value companionship. As a hospice volunteer, your role may include spending time talking and listening, helping patients share their life stories, reading aloud, playing cards, or enjoying music together. Sometimes, simply being present makes all the difference.

Hospice care goes beyond meeting physical needs — it honors comfort, dignity, and emotional support for both patients and their families. Volunteers play a vital role in making this possible.

Why volunteer with By the Bay Health Hospice?

  • Flexible schedules
  • Meaningful connections
  • Opportunities to learn new skills
  • A chance to give back in a powerful way

Training and orientation are provided.

Join our team of compassionate volunteers who are making a difference, one visit at a time.
