Job description

FlexStaff is seeking a Registered Nurse with current Infection Control Certification (APIC) for our Client, for a skilled nursing facility (long- and short-term), located in Manhattan, NY.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9a-5pm.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Professional Nurse Licensed to practice in New York State.

  • Baccalaureate in Nursing, Master’s Degree in Education or healthcare related field is preferred.

  • APIC certified or Infection Control Certification is required. 

  • A minimum of four years nursing experience including previous supervisory experience preferred.

You will be responsible for the management and implementation of the Infection Control program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs and oversees nursing care on the assigned unit. 

  • Delegates direct resident care to appropriate nursing staff.

  • Monitors care to ensure it aligns with each resident’s plan of care. 

  • Communicates resident and unit needs effectively to Nursing Administration. 

  • Uses data collection, assessment, and care planning to meet resident needs. 

  • Facilitates interdisciplinary communication and problem-solving to develop goal-driven care plans. 

  • Ensures the Resident Care Plan is updated as needed to reflect current resident needs. 

  • Collaborates with Nursing Administration to achieve clinical and budget objectives. 

  • Evaluates unit staff to assess competencies and identify education needs; supports staff education and participates in counseling and disciplinary processes. 

  • Maintains personal clinical competencies to provide resident care, evaluate staff performance, and serve as a role model. 

  • Communicates resident needs, strengths, and status to appropriate staff through unit conferences and written documentation.
