Part-Time Basketball Coach

Play Hard Hoops | Chicago & Lake Zurich, IL

Position: Part-Time Basketball Coach
Organization: Play Hard Hoops
Locations: Chicago (North Side & Downtown) and Lake Zurich, Lincolnshire, Buffalo Grove, Barrington, Vernon Hills, Libertyville, and surrounding suburbs
Season: August 24, 2026 - May 28, 2027
Schedule: Weekday evenings (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM) and weekends (hours vary)

Compensation
  • Head Travel Coaches: Starting at $30/hour
  • Assistant Coaches (Classes, Camps & Leagues): $16-$25/hour, based on experience and role
About Play Hard Hoops

Play Hard Hoops is one of the premier youth basketball organizations serving both the Chicagoland suburbs and the city. With 40+ boys and girls travel teams each season, along with year-round skills training, leagues, and camps, we're committed to helping young athletes develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game.

We're looking for energetic, dependable, and passionate coaches to join our growing staff. Whether you're an experienced travel coach or looking to begin your coaching journey as an assistant, we'd love to hear from you.

Lead one of our competitive boys or girls travel basketball teams throughout the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and lead team practices.
  • Coach games and tournaments.
  • Develop players' individual skills and team concepts.
  • Foster a competitive, positive, and supportive team culture.
  • Communicate with families and program leadership.
Assistant Coaches

Support our youth basketball programming, including:

  • Weekly skills development classes.
  • Weekend leagues.
  • Holiday and seasonal camps.
  • Beginner and intermediate player development programs.

This is a great opportunity for:
