Position Summary

Coastal Vacation Properties is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our vacation rental properties are well-maintained, safe, and comfortable for our guests. Your expertise in various maintenance areas, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevators, pool troubleshooting and general repairs, will be essential in providing top-notch service to our valued customers.

The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter with excellent time management skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to communicate effectively with both management and guests. You will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance, performing necessary repairs, and executing preventative measures to keep our properties operating at peak efficiency. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be key in ensuring our guests have an exceptional experience during their stay with Coastal Vacation Properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and systems such as HVAC units, elevators, pools, plumbing fixtures, minor electrical, drywall & painting, and other jobs as assigned.

  • Inspect buildings for any structural damage to windows, doors, and walls and perform necessary repairs

  • Record of completed repairs in property management software.

  • Execute preventative maintenance measures to keep homes/condos operating efficiently and prevent any safety risks

  • Communicate with management about any work that requires outside expert assistance

  • Be able to lift at least 60lbs, climb ladders, operate hand tools

  • Be a self-starter with time management skills, responsible to account for all billable hours Be "on call" on rotating schedule to assist with after hour issues especially on weekends.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving abilities with an ownership mindset

  • Able to think outside the box and identify cost effective repair solution before recommending replacement.

  • Takes pride in treating each home as if it were their own.

  • Positive attitude, dependable, and team oriented.

  • Experience with pool equipment is a plus.

  • Experience working around elevators is helpful; training will be provided for routine troubleshooting and reset procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent

  • At least 2 years of maintenance experience

  • Knowledge of heating and air conditioning units, plumbing systems, and electrical systems

  • Advanced understanding of maintenance equipment, procedures, and techniques

  • Basic understanding and proficiency of computers and devices that require programing (i.e. locks, thermostats, televisions, & WIFI).

  • Available to be on call and respond to maintenance requests on nights and weekends as scheduled.

  • Excellent work ethic, communication skills, time management skills, and attention to detail

  • Must have basic tools. We do offer a van or mileage service.

  • Knowing pool equipment and elevators are a plus.

  • Must have reliable transportation, position requires being able to travel to multiple locations on Fort Myers Beach & Bonita Beach.

Hourly Salary - $20+ depending on experience
