Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and execution of specialized equipment used in heavy industrial and marine environments. This pivotal role offers the chance to oversee large-scale projects from initial concept through fabrication, testing, commissioning, and on-site deployment. The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical design skills with project leadership ability and a practical, results-oriented engineering approach. You will collaborate closely with fabrication, operations, project management, procurement, and clients to deliver highly tailored equipment solutions that meet stringent industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical and structural design activities throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers within the team.
  • Develop, review, and authorize engineering calculations, fabrication drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Support finite element analysis (FEA), testing, validation, and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Collaborate effectively with project management, manufacturing, procurement, and sales teams.
  • Participate in customer meetings, serving as a technical authority during project execution.
  • Facilitate installation, commissioning, and field service support as required.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Contribute to engineering resource planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of mechanical design experience within industrial manufacturing, heavy equipment, marine, energy, or related sectors.
  • Proven experience designing custom or capital equipment.
  • Strong understanding of structural, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or comparable 3D CAD software.
  • Demonstrated project leadership experience and ability to work collaboratively across functions.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred but not mandatory; candidates actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of CFD, FEA, or advanced engineering analysis is a plus.
  • Experience in one or more of the following environments is desirable: heavy industrial equipment, marine or shipbuilding, mining and aggregate processing, energy and power generation, manufacturing and fabrication, material handling systems, or custom-engineered equipment.
  • Willingness to relocate and travel as needed, with applicable certifications a plus.
