Victor’s Café, a historic fine dining Cuban restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our leadership team.

We are looking for a hands on floor leader who is passionate about hospitality, comfortable managing a high volume dining room, and committed to developing a strong and accountable team. This role requires someone who can maintain polished service standards while creating a positive experience for both guests and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Lead front of house operations during dinner, brunch, private events, and high volume services
  • Maintain a visible presence on the floor and ensure guests receive warm, attentive, and professional service
  • Manage, coach, and support servers, bartenders, hosts, bussers, and other front of house employees
  • Conduct pre shift meetings and ensure the team is prepared on menus, specials, promotions, service expectations, and restaurant policies
  • Monitor service standards, dining room organization, employee appearance, and overall guest experience
  • Address guest concerns professionally and resolve issues in the moment
  • Support employee hiring, onboarding, training, development, and performance management
  • Assist with scheduling, labor management, attendance, breaks, and floor coverage
  • Partner closely with the culinary team to maintain strong communication and smooth service
  • Support beverage controls, inventory procedures, opening duties, closing duties, and daily administrative responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, liquor regulations, restaurant policies, and New York labor requirements
  • Support private dining events and special restaurant programming
  • Help create a workplace built on communication, teamwork, accountability, and respect

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of restaurant management experience in a high volume, upscale, or fine dining environment
  • Strong knowledge of front of house service standards and restaurant operations
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold employees accountable
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive during busy services
  • Experience with scheduling, training, labor management, and employee relations
  • Comfortable handling guest recovery, staffing challenges, and competing priorities
  • Experience with restaurant point of sale systems
  • Toast experience is preferred
  • New York City restaurant experience is strongly preferred
  • Spanish speaking ability is helpful but not required
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Genuine passion for hospitality, food, beverage, and creating memorable guest experiences
