A hedge fund, multi-manager platform, or investment firm may seek an Investment Banking to Hedge Fund Analyst to support fundamental research, idea generation, and investment decision-making across public equities, credit, or event-driven strategies. This role is ideal for candidates leveraging investment banking transaction experience to develop buy-side investing expertise, including financial analysis, catalyst identification, and risk assessment.

• Conduct fundamental company analysis across public equities and/or credit instruments

• Build and maintain detailed financial models, including operating models, valuation analyses, and scenario cases

• Analyze earnings reports, SEC filings, industry trends, and corporate actions

• Support investment idea generation, including long/short thesis development and catalyst identification

• Prepare investment memos, pitch decks, and research summaries for portfolio managers

• Monitor portfolio positions, market news, and macro developments impacting investments

• Leverage M&A, restructuring, and capital markets experience to evaluate event-driven opportunities

• Track valuation, downside risk, and upside potential across covered names

• Collaborate closely with portfolio managers and senior analysts on live investment decisions

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related discipline

• Strong interest in hedge funds, public markets, and active investing strategies

• Advanced skills in financial modeling, valuation, and financial statement analysis

• Ability to synthesize large volumes of information into clear investment conclusions

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• High attention to detail and intellectual curiosity

• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, market-driven environment

• Prior experience in investment banking, equity research, credit research, or investing roles is highly beneficial

• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial research tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet)
